"Sleepless" nights
I have always been a fantastic sleeper. Seriously, head on pilow + max(15 minutes) = fast asleep.
Tragically for many varied reasons, the last few weeks have broken that happy trend. Here's a quick example of three nights this week.
January 1st
2am:
TEETHING BABY: *screams for 20 mintues*
3am:
TEETHING BABY: *screams for 20 mintues*
4am:
TEETHING BABY: *screams for 20 mintues*
January 2nd
2:30am:
ALLERGIES: Ah ha, your meds have worn off, REVENGE!
Elizabeth: *pops pills*
ALLERGIES: Ah ha, the allergy pills are non-drowsy, REVENGE!
4am:
Elizabeth: falls asleep
January 4th:
1am:
Phone: RING RING
Elizabeth's Mouth: ugahrsggh Hello?
CHEERFUL VOICE: Elizabeth! I've missed the last train, can I come over?
Elizabeth's Mouth: Train?
Elizabeth's Brain: Ughghhhh words
CHEERFUL VOICE: I've missed the last train from the city to Penrith and I don't want to wait an hour for the night bus
Elizabeth's Mouth: Bus?
CHEERFUL and ALERT VOICE: So I was thinking, I could take a taxi to Burwood because it would be much cheaper than a taxi to Penrith.
Elizabeth's Brain: Penrith... cousin Adrian.
Elizabeth's Mouth: Adrian. You want to... stay over?
Adrian: Yes, that's right!
Elizabeth's Mouth: Uh, alright, I'll make you a bed.
2am:
ALLERGIES: REVENGE!
Elizabeth: *pops pills*
ALLERGIES: Ah ha, double revenge!
3am:
Elizabeth: *falls asleep*
It wasn't too bad having Adrian come over in the middle of the night. It gave me an excuse to do a crazy fast middle of the night house clean up. I'd just gotten back to Burwood that afternoon, so didn't have real food or more importantly gluten free Adrian friendly food in the house so when he woke up in the morning, he went shopping for breakfast before I even woke up... and bought me thankyou flowers!
